But hey, for $40, Elements is a tool that I wouldn't mind having in the box for music.

I don't have the trained ear that many on here do though, so my words should be taken with a grain (or pinch) of salt.Īs a note, the upgrade to Nectar 2 from Elements is actually $179 on SW. I'm sure it could be used, but the lack of threshold setting makes it pretty much useless for VO (IMO). The De-Esser worked quite well on my voice, and the gate (if needed) is pretty transparent. I had some music sessions saved and was able to get some very decent vocal sounds with it really quickly.įor VO the EQ is pretty "musical" if you know what I mean, not too drastic. Location: In the souls of a million jeansĮlements is actually a really cool tool. "I reserve the right to be completely wrong." Whether it will do what you want? You are wise to try before you buy. Although I have used it many times in finished productions. It really is a "strip" with multiple things being applied at the same time with the ability to "tweak" those settings if you desire. One category is specifically for voice, the rest apply to different types of music. Nectar is a powerful tool with a ton of presets. I am probably going to check it out next week sometime and try the trial version of both of them 1st before I take the plunge. Let me know how it works out if you end up getting it. At that price I might give it a go as well. I've heard some very good things about it from Jeff Berlin and others who know what they are talking about. So does this really work well with voice overs? Sweetwater has a deal right now for Nectar Elements for $39 and the upgrade to Nectar 2 is $99.
